Machen Limestone Quarry (United Kingdom)

Quarried for Dolomitic Limestone to supply road, rail and steel industries (flux making). It is thought that the site goes back as long as the 18th century (inc lime burning). Limekiln remains are still on site as well as a 1920s transformer house built church tower style.
