This was a 19th Century Colliery and is situated on Bondland Lane, Heage. There are the remains of a loading bank, 2 capped shafts and heapstead. Also standing in good condition are the mine managers house and the mines forge/stables and workshop. The No 1 shaft (furthest from lane) seems to have been the main shaft as surface indications show that waste was being trammed from it to the tip. The second shaft was by all accounts for pumping.
The remains of the last headgear mountings can be found east of No 1 shaft along with a concreted area where the winder may have been.
The mine was connected to the Cromford Canal to the north at Starving Valley Bridge by an inclined tramway, traces of which can still be seen.
