Bryn Posteg (Brynpostig) Lead Mine (United Kingdom)
A lead mine that has been covered by a household waste site. Refuse now covers the site of the engine shaft (80 fathoms) and No1 shaft. Both were capped with concrete (using British Coal spec). No2 shaft is just outside the tipping area it is collapsed, but doesn't hold water, nearby is another filled shaft (ladder way?). The original drainage level is to the west ofv the site in the vicinity of Bryn Posteg Farm and covered over (a level marked on the OS map is in fact a small trial). Downhill of the farm are spoil heaps. To the east of the landfill on the Nant Bradnant near Bradnant farm is another level possibly associated with the mine.
