Brandlehow Lead Mine (United Kingdom)

A reasonably successful Lead mine, but plagued by water ingress from subteranean springs. Lack of surface water meant pumping had to be done with a steam engine, the fuel for which was a drain on profits. a very old mine started pre 1700 closing finally in 1891
