What is the AditNow Mining History Society?

Beginning a pitch using SRT to descend safely

The AditNow Mining History Society (ANMHS) is a society of like minded mine explorers dedicated to exploring, photographing, documenting and preserving the disused mines of the United Kingdom.

A benefit of membership of ANMHS is BCA (British Caving Association) insurance cover for underground exploration activities.

Join

Applications for the Society are made online by following this link:

Membership

Applications for membership of the Society are welcomed from any person who shares interests and objectives in sympathy with those of the Society. Members must be able to demonstrate a commitment to underground mine exploration.

Membership of the Society is different to membership of the AditNow web site. The AditNow web site is and always will be a community that is free to join and participate in. The Society is an optional offering for AditNow members who wish to join the Society with the benefit of the BCA insurance.

Other Clubs

There are many other established and well respected clubs and societies for mine explorers and researchers. As membership of the ANMHS is spread around the country, if you are looking for a club/society that offers the benefits of a more traditional structure (such as club facilities, club kit, regular meetings) then an established club may be more suitable.
