Posted: 05/08/2012 17:06:44 Reply | Quote EU regs have forced a design change recently, so the new ones are about twice as heavy as the old ones. Presumably they're a bit stronger but I doubt it'll make a jot of difference when slate is concerned. I'd be tempted to use something like a small kayak to get round a nice big pit like that... -- Filling space until a new signature comes along... IP: 81.134.101.57 |

Hmmm...thinking about it, there are a good few places now that need access over or through water to allow full exploration. I'm thinking of investing in something a bit more durable than a cheapo inflatable beach dinghy, and concentrating on flooded chambers for a while. Not sure whether to go for a better class of dinghy or some kind of small, compact, light weight sea kayak. Not much heavier than a decent dinghy, much more durable, but more unweildy to carry up inclines and over mountains! More thought and research required..... -- Because it's a challenge.....it's a challenge for me and it's a challenge for the coracle. But mainly because it's been done before.... |
