How about a visit to Ceunant Copper Mine this coming Thursday?

I'll PM Roy and ask about the extent of the SRT and if it's feasible for an evening trip.

Hopefully the fires at Rachub will have gone out by then!

Can you find out if there is any water in this mine to be waded through or if it is relatively dry, cheers Simon IP: 94.192.172.154

Roy's sent me a detailed description of Ceunant. It's on 3 levels. Looks relatively easy to find, perhaps 15 to 20 minutes walk from the road leading off the A5 at the Life Foundation.

Roy said to go in on the middle level, a traverse to rig with some interesting passage at the other end, then a 50' abseil to the bottom level.

Pitch, and bottom level, are 'wet' Big Grin Whether that means damp or neck deep we shall have to find out Thumb Up

Want a go at it? Llion, Sinker, Skimble? Anyone else?

Well done, and thanks Roy Thumbs Up

Count me in Thumbs Up

Is there anywhere to park if you take the Roman Road down as far as the junction with the cycle track back towards Penrhyn Quarry? Otherwise meet by the Life Centre. Is the "Flame Of Peace" still burning? Or did the "Gas Bill Of Life" arrive? Wink
1800 ok for everyone?

Skimble? Thumb Up

Meet up here http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=Bangor&hl=en&ll=53.155482,-4.040115&spn=0.008132,0.01884&sll=51.89353,-8.468452&sspn=0.133904,0.301437&oq=bangor&t=h&hnear=Bangor,+Gwynedd,+United+Kingdom&z=16

Then find somewhere closer to the mine to park!

It's something called the Life Foundation. No idea what they do there. But there's flame burning outside in a glass thingy, an eternal flame would you believe Wink
