Thursday nighters (western division) 5th april
Posted: 30/03/2012 22:23:30 Reply | Quote How about a visit to Ceunant Copper Mine this coming Thursday? I'll PM Roy and ask about the extent of the SRT and if it's feasible for an evening trip. Hopefully the fires at Rachub will have gone out by then! http://www.aditnow.co.uk/album/Cwm-Ceunant-Slate-Mine-User-Album/ -- Half the lies you tell ain't true IP: 95.148.1.108 |

Posted: 03/04/2012 13:38:50 Reply | Quote Roy's sent me a detailed description of Ceunant. It's on 3 levels. Looks relatively easy to find, perhaps 15 to 20 minutes walk from the road leading off the A5 at the Life Foundation. Roy said to go in on the middle level, a traverse to rig with some interesting passage at the other end, then a 50' abseil to the bottom level. Pitch, and bottom level, are 'wet' Want a go at it? Otherwise meet by the Life Centre. Is the "Flame Of Peace" still burning? Or did the "Gas Bill Of Life" arrive? 1800 ok for everyone? Skimble? -- O'r graig, egni. |

It's been burning continuously for 28 years Like the old pub on the North Yorks Moors where the same fire has been burning for over 100 years.....except my uncle owned a shop in Helmsley and they used to buy their fire lighters off him! -- O'r graig, egni. |
