Carrock mine
Posted: 31/12/2011 20:46:34 Reply | Quote Just done another through trip down Carrock, the trip was good and even though it was raining heavy the mine was slightly drier than a previous trip when it was fine. At the end of the smith vein someone had discarded about six empty cans of larger this looked bad to see litter thrown in a place like this and it can only give bad names to other people who actually care about the mine. Thinking of looking for other adits to explore level two and three. They can be got from level one if you fancy climbing them old ladders (which I'm too old now) Peregrine IP: 81.97.110.87 |

Despite having the wrong sized key with me on my way in, i managed to open the gate (the bolt was finger tight and undid with a turn on my gloved finger!!). A nice gentle trip was had, ran out of camera battery though. The cans were there then, thinking back i should have picked them up but was travelling light and had no bag with me. The bolt was left as it should, just nipped tight, but not too tight. DP IP: 92.40.254.48 |
