Following on from the disasterous test of the helmet cam underground Smile can anybody suggest some semi-reasonable video editing software please?

PC for preference, cheap preferred. Nothing flash, just need facility to select bits of clips, splice them together and some really basic effects such as fade transition and perhaps a caption or two Flowers

The results will be terrible but I may as well give it a go Laugh

Windows Movie Maker does all you ask and its free.
Corel, not sure how much it costs but its a few tricks above Movie maker but it isnt half memory hungry, it always grinds my pc to a halt after a few edits. Some nice stuff on it though

Thanks SteveT, as painful as this is to admit but Windows 7 ships with a version of WMM that crashes as soon as I import a file, and the older XP / Vista version doesn't import MP4 files Sad

So I've changed into my black poloneck sweater, lit up a Gauloise and fired up iMove on my Mac...

The result is about as good as I expected and in the Henblas thread.

Simon... Try downloading WMM 2.6 which was designed to work with later versions of Vista... it also works on Windows 7 as I can testify having made 3 movies since I got my new lap top 2 weeks ago. Seems to work a treat on here. Smile

Thanks ICLOK, but that's the one I downloaded and it won't take a MP4 file.

I've resorted to the Mac, and am feeling much cooler as a result Big Grin
